PET bottle

Plastic bottles are called PET bottles in Japan. PET is the acronym of polyethylene terephthalate, the material of these bottles. Japanese people generally pronounce the word PET "pet", neither "pete" nor "p-e-t".

Seiryo-inryosui (refer to #250) used to be sold mainly in cans or cartons at jihan-ki (refer to #194) and convenience stores. But nowadays, many of them are sold in PET bottles, because it is more convenient for storage and transportation.
