Lake Shikotsu

Lake Shikotsu is a caldera lake in Hokkaido (refer to #143). Also, it is the eighth largest lake in Japan and belongs to Shikotsu-Toya National Park.

This lake is known for its clear water and its transparency is often regarded as the highest level found in this country by the Ministry of the Environment.
