Akiko Miura

Akiko Miura

Japanese Essayist and Nonfiction Writer.

Born in Shizuoka Prefecture. Graduated from the Faculty of Letters at Sophia University.

While still a student, she married Taro Miura, the eldest son of Ayako Sono and Shumon Miura, a renowned literary couple in Japan. Afterward, she began writing essays and continues to do so to this day.

Over many years, she has served as a selector for the Bungei Essay column in the Kobe Shimbun, a judge for Hyogo Prefecture's Nojigiku Literary Award, and a member of the editorial board for Hippophile, the journal of the Japan Society for Equine Science.
