Oden is a very popular food in Japan, especially in the winter season. Various ingredients are simmered in a nabe (refer to #189), and it has been a traditional cooking style in this country for hundreds of years.

In recent decades, oden has been more popular than ever before because it is widely served at convenience stores (refer to #166) every day during the winter season (sometimes even in summer). So, not a few people in this country eat oden very often.
