Omotenashi

In Japanese, the hospitality or the act of providing services or entertainment to guests is called "omotenashi" or "motenashi". The former is more polite than the latter.

It is said that many Japanese offer services from their genuine kindness, not necessarily for the sake of getting a tip or a reward. It is regarded as a unique characteristic and often called "the Japanese omotenashi spirit".
