Lake Hamana

Lake Hamana is the 10th largest lake in Japan. It is located between Hamamatsu City and Kosai City, both of which belong to Shizuoka Prefecture.

Originally, it was a fresh-water lake. But after the impact of a major earthquake occurred in 1498, it became a brackish lake. It is linked with Shin River to Lake Sanaru.
