Goryo-kaku Japan

Goryo-kaku is the most famous star fort in Japan and one of the most popular sightseeing spots in Hakodate (refer to #127). Originally, it was complete in 1866 as a fort preparing against foreign invaders.

The Japanese word "go" is "five" in English, "ryo" is "corner", and "kaku" is "place surrounded by the wall", respectively. As its name indicates, Goryo-kaku is a place surrounded by the wall, which has five corners.
