Maid Cafe

A maid cafe or a maid kissa ("kissa" means "cafe" in English) is a theme cafe where waitresses wearing maid costumes entertain customers by playing the roles of maids and by treating the customers like their masters.

This type of theme cafe was originally invented in Akihabara (the center of Japanese otaku culture) in 2001. Since then, it has gained more popularity. Nowadays, maid cafes can be found in many countries.
