Sado Island

Sado Island (or Sado-ga-shima in Japanese) is an s-shaped island, belonging to Niigata Prefecture. The Sado Kinzan (refer to #524) was located in the island.

Because of the location as an isolated island, it was a place where some politically important persons were exiled by ancient governments. Currently, nearly 60,000 people live in this island.
