#730: Taikan (category: artist)
Taikan Yokoyama was a Japanese painter in the 19th and the 20th centuries. He entered Tokyo Fine Arts School, the forerunner of current Tokyo University of the Arts, in 1889 as a member of the inaugural class.
Also, Taikan was regarded as one of the four greatest apprentices of Gaho Hashimoto (refer to #727), along with Kanzan Shimomura (refer to #729), Shunso Hishida, and Kogetsu Saigo.
