#011: Wagashi (category: confectionery)
The word "wa" means both "Japan" and "of Japan" in ancient Japanese. And confectionery is called "kashi" in this country but its pronunciation is changed to "gashi" when it is used with some words like "wa". So, "wagashi" can be paraphrased as "Japanese (wa) confectionery (kashi)".
Japanese chefs stick to be extremely sensitive while cooking. Many Japanese cuisine including wagashi are very tiny but elaborately made as if they were some pieces of artwork.
