#1000: Saitama (category: prefecture)
Saitama Prefecture is located in the western part of the Kanto region (refer to #137). It is one of the eight inland prefectures among 47 prefectures in Japan that do not face the sea.
It is the fifth most populous prefecture in Japan, but has the highest daytime population outflow rate in the country and is known as a bedroom community for the Tokyo metropolitan area.
