Seiyu Japan

Seiyu is a general merchandise store chain and has lots of branches in many prefectures in Japan. It used to be expanding steadily until the end of 1980s, but had financial difficulty in 1990s under the influence of Japanese economic crisis.

Then, the company partnered with Walmart, the largest supermarket chain in the world, and later became one of its affiliated companies. As it adopted Walmart-style strategies little by little, Seiyu was gradually turning to its new, current style.
