#401: Kirishima-Kinkowan National Park (category: national park)
Originally, Kirishima National Park was listed as a national park by the Japanese government in 1934, along with Setonaikai National Park (refer to #399) and Unzen National Park (refer to #400).
In 1964, the Kinko-wan area and Yakushima were incorporated into Kirishima National Park and it once became Kirishima-Yaku National Park. However, after Yakushima area was separated from Kirishima-Yaku National Park in 2012, it became the current Kirishima-Kinkowan National Park.
