Shitenno-ji

Shitenno-ji is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Japan and belongs to "Seven Great Buddhist Temples built by Prince Shotoku". It is located near Tennoji Station (refer to #459) on Osaka Loop Line (refer to #117).

Prince Shotoku or Prince Umayado was a legendary politician in the Asuka period (between the 6th and 8th centuries) and regarded as the founder of Buddhism in Japan.
