Uwajima Castle, located in Uwajima City, Ehime Prefecture, is one of 12 Existing Tenshu in Japan. (The word "Tenshu" means the highest tower in a Japanese castle.)
The castle standing on a hill, was built by Takatora Todo, a famous warlord in the 16th and 17th centuries. He was known for expertise in designing castles.
