Kochi Castle

Kochi Castle, located in Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture, is one of 12 Existing Tenshu in Japan. (The word "Tenshu" means the highest tower in a Japanese castle.)

Kazutoyo Yamauchi, a famous warlord in the 16th and 17th centuries, started building the castle and Tadayoshi Yamauchi, his adopted son, completed it in 1601. It is also called Hawk Castle.
