#692: Yoshitoshi (category: artist)
Yoshitoshi Tsukioka was one of the most important ukiyo-e artists in the late Edo and Meiji periods. He influenced many artists in his days and later eras.
Yoshitoshi left many works, including impressively hideous ukiyo-e, which are especially categorized as muzan-e (or "bloody prints" in English), and have been known and appreciated worldwide.
