Okyo

Okyo Maruyama was a Japanese painter in the 18th century. He is known as the originator of the Maruyama school, a traditional faction of nihon-ga (Japanese-style paintings).

Okyo had many apprentices, who later became renowned painters. Especially, Genki Komai and Rosetsu Nagasawa (refer to #702) were regarded as the two most famous.
