#766: Hasui (category: artist)
Hasui Kawase was a Japanese painter in the 19th and 20th centuries. He was a disciple of Kiyokata Kaburaki (refer to #756), who gave him the pseudonym "Hasui".
Under the influence of Shinsui Ito (refer to #762), Hasui started making woodblock paintings energetically. His works have been widely recognized overseas.
