#978: Ishikawa (category: prefecture)
Ishikawa Prefecture is located in the northwestern corner of the Chubu region (refer to #138), the northern part of which is the Noto Peninsula.
The name "Ishikawa" is derived from the old name of the Tedori River, which flows through the prefecture from Mount Haku (or Haku-san in Japanese).
