#993: Nagano (category: prefecture)
Nagano Prefecture is located in the eastern part of the Chubu region (refer to #138). It is also called "Shinshu," the ancient name of the country.
The prefecture is known for its many hills, mountains, and popular resort areas such as Karuizawa and Kamikochi.
