#994: Yamanashi (category: prefecture)
Yamanashi Prefecture is located in the eastern part of the Chubu region (refer to #138). It is one of the eight inland prefectures among 47 prefectures in Japan that do not face the sea.
Mount Fuji (refer to #095), the highest mountain in Japan, straddles this prefecture and the neighboring Shizuoka (refer to #992) Prefecture to the south.
