Gunma Prefecture is located in the southwestern corner of the Kanto region (refer to #137). It is one of the eight inland prefectures among 47 prefectures in Japan that do not face the sea.

There are dozens of hot spring resorts in this prefecture, including Kusatsu Onsen, one of the three best hot springs in Japan.
