Towada-ko

Towada-ko or Lake Towada is a famous tourist site for momiji-gari (refer to #263). This crater lake is located on the border between Aomori and Akita Prefectures, the northern part of Honshu island (refer to #062).

Towada-ko is designated as a Special Place of Scenic Beauty and a Natural Monument in this country, along with a beautiful stream named Oirase-keiryu. They compose Towada-Hachimantai National Park.
