A kadomatsu is a Japanese traditional ornament to be displayed in pairs in front of each building's gate at the beginning of Sho-gatsu (refer to #085). In many cases, until January 7th or 15th.
Each kadomatsu is usually made of "Three Friends of Winter": pine, bamboo, and plum (refer to #098). The word "kado" is "gate" in English and "matsu" is "pine", respectively.
