#478: Shosoin (category: historic building)
The Shosoin is a building which stores many treasures. It belongs to Todai-ji (refer to #468) and is located to the northwest of Daibutsu-den, enshrining Daibutsu in Nara (refer to #467).
The Shosoin itself was designated as a National Treasure in 1997 by the Japanese government. Also, as a part of Todai-ji, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998.
