Lake Kussharo

Lake Kussharo is the sixth largest lake in Japan, after Lake Biwa (refer to #483), Lake Kasumigaura (refer to #484), Lake Saroma (refer to #485), Lake Inawashiro (refer to #486), and Nakaumi (refer to #487).

The lake is located in Hokkaido (refer to #143) and belongs to Akan-Mashu National Park. It is the largest caldera lake in Japan. It seems to have been formed into the current shape in the last 30,000 years or so.
