A pension-style accommodation can be found in many countries. In Japan, it usually is a European-style facility, unlike a Japanese traditional ryokan (refer to #321).

Even though their buildings have the European style, Japanese food and Japanese-style services, such as ocha (refer to #012) and oshibori (refer to #320), are often offered because the managers in general want to serve the customers with "the Japanese omotenashi spirit" (refer to #319).
