Description

The body of a murdered female university student was discovered on the campus of S Women's University. The scene of the crime, a log cabin, was a locked room sealed from the inside, and the victim, clad only in her underwear, bore a mysterious knife mark on her skin.

Two months later, another female university student's body was found on the campus of T University, this time in a pump shed. This second murder scene was also a locked room, and once again, a strange mark had been carved into the victim's body.

Sohei Saikawa, an associate professor at N University, and Moe Nishinosono, a third-year student at the same university and his student, agree to assist the police investigation due to their prior involvement in solving a previous case. During the investigation, Minoru Yuki, a popular rock singer whom both victims had been devoted fans of, emerges as a suspect. Coincidentally, Yuki is also a student enrolled in Saikawa's lectures.

Why did the perpetrator leave marks on the victims' bodies? And what was the purpose of turning the crime scenes into locked rooms?

This is the first volume of "Jack the Poetical Private," the fourth novel in the "S & M (Saikawa & Moe)" series, which depicts the master-disciple detective duo most favored by readers in the history of Japanese mysteries!
