Description

Two female university students were murdered in separate locked rooms. The only apparent connection between them was that both were devoted fans of popular rock singer Minoru Yuki.

After attending Yuki's concert for the first time at N University's campus festival, Moe Nishinosono notices a disturbing similarity between the lyrics of Yuki's new song, "Jack the Poetical Private," and the recent string of serial murders. Driven by curiosity and intuition, she begins to investigate the truth on her own.

While the police keep a close watch on Yuki's movements, another incident occurs amid the bustle of the N University festival. The third crime scene is, once again, a locked room. Another strange mark made by a knife is carved into the victim’s skin.

When Moe's close friend becomes entangled in the case, she desperately tries to unravel the mystery. But her usual confidant, Associate Professor Sohei Saikawa, is away on an overseas trip and cannot help her. Thinking of Saikawa from afar, Moe struggles alone with all her strength.

This work, the second volume of the three-volume English edition of "Jack the Poetical Private," makes readers long for the reunion of the most beloved detective duo in Japanese mystery history!!
